My father is sailing Summerwind. It's a kind of special occasion because he was sailing a lot in his live, if as first maid on the Passat (also in September 1957), as Captain of the Gorch Fock or as private sailor on several pleasure vessels. He finished his Army career as Admiral and correctly I should fly his Admiral flag.
Remarkable is that his sailing style differs so much from many of us nowadays, not using autopilot, always trying to tag as high to the wind as possible and being on the helm for hours without break.
Formentera ... one of the most beautifully places I know in Europe. I'm a child of the beach, grew up with water and sand and wind. Always being deeply sorry for people having to live in a place without even having a small ocean next to them. I understand why people like to go to mountains in winter, because then mountains are covered with water - frozen one but at least. Formentera comes close to the perfect beaches you normally only have in tropic areas. And the best, I can stay when all the others have to leave.
